Protecter

I see her. Her head is to the floor she's scared.Your in her face. And then these scenarios run through my head. What if you beat her, what if you kill her. I can't let that happen. No! I won't let that happen even if I have to kill you, I'll stop you. I grab the knife clutching it so hard my are sore. You see me and stop yourself momentarily. Both of us trying to control ourselves. Voices in my head tell me the right thing to do.... "Protect her at all cost, no matter what!" "Back off let them solve their own problems!" I don't care what happens yo me as long as you're safe. Stop! Why can't you stop? I'm sweating & on the brink of tears. I won't watch anymore. I feel every bit of control slipping. My anger overflows and then everything happens so fast. Why couldn't you stop. I hate you.

College for All

College for All                                                                                                                                                                                                              I was brought into a world where people are accused of being violent and cruel. Where the people rob and and jump people on the street. But that’s only the negative stereotypes that are usually associated with my community. I was really brought into a loving and supporting family who has always tried to give me the things they never had. And a community who wants me to show the world the misunderstandings and the good that we have to offer. They have always supported me like a second family, and even though I have been affected by the negatives of life I have never turned my back on them.  With these two sides of my life always supporting me,I’ve developed into the person I am today. For this i will always love the community that taught me how to live and the family that raised me. These worlds have made me want to make sure I follow what interests me.                                                                                         One word that best describes my family is inspiring. I chose this word because my family has gave up so much to see that I have a bright and successful future. They also push me to do the best I can do in life and help me through all my hardships and struggles and confront. One word that describes my community is misunderstood because most people think that everyone is robbers or criminals or just bad people in general. But I see them as something different they have dreams and they have been through many obstacles and struggled all through their life to get where they are today. One word that describes my school is extremely supportive because they try so hard to give me opportunity's that other schools don’t have. My school’s teachers and staff are supportive but they are also serious and strict and want me to do my very best on whatever I try on.                                                                                                                                                  One example of the opportunity's that is available to me from my school is this field trip to visit three different colleges to prepare me for the years far beyond my years at UPA. Another opportunity that has been available to me by my school is a trip to Washington D.C. And even though I did not attend the trip I was given the chance to go. A opportunity available to me by my community was I was able to receive a free computer donated by the community so I can do school work and type essays like this.                                                                                                                          One major issue confronting my family is... well i don’t think their any major problems in my family. Of course their are little insignificant problems that I think everyone goes through. One major issue that my school faces is not having all the money to have lots of extra supplies. I try not to break or damage any school materials because I know that it’s limited. One major issue confronting my community is violence and one thing I’m doing to confront that is not getting involved and supporting them.                                                                                                                  I have changed in so many ways in confronting these obstacles and it has impacted my life and dreams like I want to help and repay my community for all the good they have done for me. This is become a major part of my dreams of my future.                                                                         College means to me hope for a bright future, it is the place where you can start on your journey to make your dreams a reality. It is where you meet some of your life long friends. It is also the place where you can expand your knowledge to a whole new level of thinking. College connects me to my family because it where new people like friends are made and new experiences are awaiting. It also acts a another struggle a barrier that I have to overcome in order to achieve a higher understanding in life.

Freedom

Freedom

What is Freedom?
Can you see it?
Can you hear?
What does it feel like?

Freedom is equal rights
It is the right to speech
It is the right to independence
It is the right to dream

My Grandfather

Grandpa I miss you
The way you always hugged me when you saw me
The way you smiled when you saw me
I miss you
What will you say if you come back
Will you say "hey boy you been good"
Or will you you just hug me like you always did
I miss you
What will you wear?
I can see you now
You might wear your navy blue army jacket with your army medals
Will you wear your fancy cologne you always wore
I still can't believe your gone
I know one thing
You'll give me a big hug
And tell me you love me
I miss you
